Designer Emily Lynn's x Tenspeed Hero's screenprinted homage to her father who responds with glee and surprise with "OH MY" in his best George Takei voice (Her Dad is a big fan). With these wiggly letters, TSH also noticed a shapely parallel to Edvard Munch's "The Scream" Der Schrei der Natur (The Scream of Nature).
Though the painting has come to symbolize human anxiety amidst the prospects of the modern world, Munch himself described the inspiration in a diary entry from 1892, "I was walking along the road with two friends – the sun was setting – suddenly the sky turned blood red – I paused, feeling exhausted, and leaned on the fence – there was blood and tongues of fire above the blue-black fjord and the city – my friends walked on, and I stood there trembling with anxiety – and I sensed an infinite scream passing through nature"
This had us thinking how the bike is often our escape from this modern world and yet it is born of it (mind exploding). From the vantage point of saddle to bars we are treated often to the blood red sky sunsets that Edvard Munch experienced in 1892. If we know anything, we know a bike ride is one way to relieve anxiety and lessen our impact on the planet (mind still exploding).
We invite all Heroes to say "OH MY" during their adventures in our collarless, Italian made, 4 fabric, silky soft and much loved race fit (Snug but fitting lots of body shapes and sizes!)
